To provide Ballet/Dance & Performance Arts Education to students. Our mission is to expose students to the added benefits the Arts play in Early Childhood Education and beyond.
Our THREE (3)- model RULE:
Purpose
As part of our organization purpose of preserving the Arts in formal educational settings.
We introduce classical and contemporary dance styles to early learners with the focus on building self confidence, creative movement, muscle strengthening and cognitive development.
Our program is designed to encourage positive expression through movement and increases student's appreciation for classical music and the arts.
As the program progress to include older students, focus will include dance history and the evolution of various dance styles popular today with added emphasis on technique training.

Shakeyua Hines
Training
A Graduate of the Dance Department of Duke Ellington School of the Arts High School in Washington DC, under the tutelage of Lynn B. Welters, who trained under renowned American and international ballet and dance masters including: Ann Parson - National Ballet, Karel Shook – Co Founder Dance Theater of Harlem, Jugen Schneider – Former Director American Ballet Theatre, Janina Cunovas – Prima Ballet Mistress Australia Ballet. Vaganova Classical Ballet Teacher Training Certificate and Bolshoi Ballet Teacher Training in Moscow, Russia.
Education
Shakeyua Hines have a MBA in Business Law & Human Resource Management and a Masters in Education concentration major in Curriculum, Instruction, Assessment and Learning Theories in Dance Education, in which she merged the study of dance and the role it plays in education into a specific field of study.
Experience
As a strong advocate for dance and arts education in the public & charter school systems she worked with many schools to develop dance and arts curriculums. In 2008, she founded the "My Child Can Dance, Community Outreach Program" , which introduces dance to school age children living in underserved communities with the goal of increasing their appreciation for the arts. In 2010, SL Dance & Performance Arts Academy partnered with the New School of Dance and Arts, founded by Lynn B. Welters and formed Ballet Elite, a pre-professional non-profit Ballet and Dance Institution, where they work with leading industry professionals like the Director of Ailey Dance Extension Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater- Lisa Johnson- Willingham, the Artistic Director of The Philadelphia Dance Company PHILADANC - ,Kim Bears Bailey, and the Director of Dance at Point Park University - Dr. Marc Christopher Spaulding, to name a few. Many of their students have gone on to become professional dancers and leaders in the industry themselves and have graduated from High school with full scholarships to top Universities.
